January Morning Bins

Hash tags blocks from Target

Beads are from Oriental Trading.
I took three pipe cleaners and twisted
them in the middle to make a sn*wflake.
The kids will roll the number cube and add that many
beads to the pipe cleaners.
I will let you know if they made any patterns.

Here I used white poms and reusable ice cubes.

To Infinity and Beyond!

To Infinity and Beyond! Join us as we travel to outer space.

As you know, we begin every unit with a letter.

This time, I just included some astronaut badges.

Sometimes I read letters about the planets but we aren't

studying the planets, we are just enjoying space :)

Here is how we store our centers.

I share my room, so these get covered when I leave

for the day.  Fear not, there are plenty of other toys in the rooms :)

Felt stories from Target.

Here we made some star constellations.

Balance toys also from Target.

I got these on Amazon for a fab price. $9.89!!

This is a giant felt board around 3x4 feet.
They lay it on the floor and play!

Magnets two sets both from Target.

Two space puzzles,
one garage sale and the circle one from Target.

I would, however, suggest to just get the whole bundle!

In our journals we drew rectangles and
added triangles on top then their flight plans!

I asked them to name some shapes-
and of course, someone picked a hexagon lol

Then we cut out shapes and glued them in 1 at a time.

Luckily, I found some space stickers!

Polar Animals Study

We started off the year by traveling to the Arctic.

We read a letter introducing the whole unit. Then each day we met new animals.

I added some winter-themed pencils and blue markers to our writing tool turn-about.

Here are some of the books we used:

We made icicles in our journals.

We have to at least make as many as we are old.

This was one of my transitions. They spun the paperclip and put some "ice" on that animal.
The "ice" are glass beads- blue, clear, and frosted.

The tray came from Dollar Tree.

All of our centers are stored here.
I share my classroom, so everything is stored here.
I cover it with a pocket chart after my class is done.

The large empty space on top is for our stews,
which I put up high on a shelf.

Penguin roll
Penguins are from Dollar Tree
penguin mini erasers from the KinderCrate.
Kids roll the number cube and add that many penguins to the penguins.

Pokey pins are From the Pond.
I make my students lay on their bellies to poke these.

Random blocks and animals from Target.

The matching play dough cards are underneath the key card.

Winter magnet tiles

Penguins

I thought they would be hard like those counting bears,
but these are more pliable.

This game.... the pieces are good...when not used together lol
It is supposed to balance, it is more frustrating than anything.
Watch the video.

Polar and Snowman Stews HERE
but just get the bundle HERE.

Week 2 I added this one :)
