Beginning of the year centers

I do a gradual release of our centers. Most of them start in our morning bins, which is free explore then continues with adding "something".

Hop over here to check out our morning bins.

See the play dough sign in the white bin?

That is the same bin that I use to

collect the play dough at my open house!

I used mini erasers in a bucket from Dollar Tree
The cards came from here.

These are those large puzzle blocks from Target.
I don't add anything to these (yet)

After we have a small group to get Pip certified
we can explore at centers time.
Grab  mats  here.

t-shirts from here.
This is another small group.
We roll the number cubes and add that many chips
to the shirts. Check out her post here for the shirts.

They are 50% off now!!! This is a better deal!!

Target puzzles from our morning bins.

Counting bears
with sorting cups and a color dice

large buttons- I just let them explore.
You could have them sort by color or shape though!

These centers last about two weeks of school.

Spring has Sprung!

Well not so much here... we just has sn*w the other day lol

I rely heavily on my public library.

I reserve books about every other week.

This was waiting for me on the last day of my spring break!

We added this to our calendar time.

This is a tri-fold board. I have literally no wall space to use.

The letter of the day sign, the letter find underneath, the Hh and road h,

Each day we get a letter in our mailbox.

The kids get to open the letters.

Detailed post coming ASAP!!

I used smelly markers to make our rainbow.
Children will sort letters and foam shapes according to color.

Build the number*

Number count*
lay out the cards and add that many chain links at the bottom

The children will find and trace the letter in that color.
There is a missing sheet.*

Color puzzles

I made a color copy of the puzzle below- it is a little tricky!

March Morning Work Week 2

Trace, trace, (write) and erase here $

I like when things rhyme lol so we leave out the write part lol
We chant "trace, trace, and erase"

I have searched, unsuccessfully for what these looked like when I bought them from Target,
but alas, no luck finding them  :(

They will take the "floam" and roll it into snakes to form letters, numbers, or shapes.

These "puzzles" are from Bright Blocks.

I sent for the free puzzles and they sent in these :)

I got these on clearance at Target
I just wanted to let them play with them since they are new,
but I plan to add them to my February morning work bins.

Gingerbread

This week we kick off our gingerbread unit. Most of the printables come from Pocket of Preschool (PoP)

Here is our play dough bin.

The decorate the gingerbread one is supposed to be a math game where you roll and add gumdrops to the house.  We are going to use play dough to decorate :)

Gumdrop spin and color
Spin the spinner and color that many gumdrops that color.

Trace and make from PoP
Use play dough, or Wiki Sticks or mini erasers.

Puzzles from PoP
there are two different levels

Candy building set

Build the number from PoP
I used mini erasers

Extend the pattern from PoP
I used different gingerbread and candy mini erasers.
I don't have house mini erasers, so I printed out the houses.

My GB House sketch from PoP.

Color by number
I always make a guide and color
the crayons, so the children know which to use :)
I put it in a sheet protector.

Beginning sounds from PoP
We will use a pocket chart.

The two sheets (on the left side and bottom) are found at From the Pond.
The blank one is from PoP.

Gumdrop shapes from PoP.
The gumdrops and toothpicks are from Dollar Tree.

Color Letter from PoP
Children pull out a fabric letter and find that letter on
their sheet and color it that color.

For the blocks area.
I think all the painted GB and houses are
all from Bullseye's Playground.
I am not sure where the plain GB come from.

Color by Number from PoP
roll the dice and color that part
of the GB.

Hot Cocoa Count.
I used white pom poms,
