Week 2: Morning Bins

 

Last week, we just had the "toys."

This week, I added the cards.

I still can't find a link to these :( 

Was I supposed to use these??? No, and it messed 

up my whole schedule grrrrr

A bonus, though, I made cards!!

I will get them posted soon! 

They are definitely from Tara West, but I am unable to locate them :(

I think they are from Carson Dellosa about a million years ago.

I have these frogs!

I bought them years and years ago.

There are three sizes of frogs.

Many colors and logs that the small frogs can sit on.

There are cards, too, so the kids can follow the patterns.

Morning Work and Centers

 

How I do morning work:

Each child has their own labeled drawer.  Each drawer has a number on it (guess I need to find an updated photo). The number edge is color-coded. I drew the number and color on the sides.)

Hop back next week, and I will try to have an updated photo of the drawers, along with something new to share as well.  I have to test it out this week.

We've used these frogs before, and now I've added the cards. 

The cards get harder. There are three different levels.

Basic is shown below.

Some are missing the last frogs.

Some are different sizes.

They are Funtastic Frogs from the 1990's from Carson Dellosa.

Q-tip but I used them as pokey-pins.

I have this whole unit.

I can't remember which exactly unit it was in.

Week Two: morning bins

Week one is just plain toys,

In week two I added elements.

First Week of School Morning Work

 The first week of school is always so much work, you are teaching so many procedures and rules. So I start with things that they typically have used before or that don't need much explanation.

Check your classroom for toys that will work. I have used snap cubes, pattern blocks, chain links, Unifix cubes, and teddy bears, this is all super low prep, find and put inside a drawer.

In week two, I add something to the drawer. Check back next week for our week two centers.

I took strips of construction paper and wrapped packing tape around when I didn't have duct tape.

We celebrated Very Hungry Caterpillar day!!!

We did a scavenger hunt.

These "posters" came from Dollar Tree.

I think you're supposed to hang these up :)

We searched for all things red.

Then we talked about what was red- then we put them away.

We followed with orange

We rainbow wrote in small groups. Pip, IYKYK :)

Here's my updated rainbow name.

I wrote each of their names in

rainbow order with smelly markers.
