Apple Week

We picked out of this apple and we retold the Very Hungry Caterpillar story.

This week we used this sheet as our guide.  I used a smelly green apple marker and the kids traced to make the letters.

I used this one from HERE:

We worked on this sheet during small groups. Some groups didn't complete the sheet, and some did.
One of my smartie-frogs said that they should color the letter the color on the apple- BRILLIANT!
I love that idea and hope to remember that the next time!

At the end, I gave them a smiley face in green apple smelly marker. The children put their papers in their folders.

At the end of our week, we got out our 3 crayons to match the apple colors: red/green/yellow and made a graph of our favorite color apples based on the apple that each child brought.

Here is our apple-pie making station:

There are little cards on a ring for the kids to make different recipes.

This also tells me, I need more pom poms lol this was one bag each of red, green, and yellow from Discount School Supply.   I used small mini-pie plates.

Here is a magnetic apple board.

These were only some of the ideas we had this week.  I will see what else I can find :)

Trouble areas

I am always seemingly changing my room- it works sometimes, then it doesn't lol

Here is my library shelves on my main floor:

We have a book bin for Pip the Pup and for classbooks.

The next day, the bins were moved lol

The kids nap in my room, so the boxes get in the way.

If they aren't stacked the "right" way, one of the labels pops off lol

I have another shelf and boxes in my loft too lol

Problems area #2!

First off, I have carpet on half my walls...

that's not really an issue. I mean, I just don't use it lol

My linear calendar takes up the whole wall-

but that's the point.

The blue chair is my teacher chair.
It is covering the outlet.

The white shelf holds our CD players.

Then my easel way over there lol
Thank goodness it is on wheels ;)

Maybe I move the white shelves to the center?
Move my chair towards the easel?

I'll be back later with an update lol

In other news, I got rid of these bucket shelves!!!!

Well I kept the buckets lol

Someone was giving away this Lakeshore unit and I scooped it up!

The sensory table moved down because it was spit between the carpet and flooring.

The table holds big books that need to find a home lol

or so I don't forget about them lol

I need more labels but I keep forgetting to take photos lol

Since writing this, I changed it more lol

so more updates to follow!

Friendship week recap and morning bins

To celebrate 2-22-22 we made matching pairs of foods. I put half the pairs up first and they had to find the matching pair.  Then in journals, we drew 4 matching pairs.

I think they did wonderful!!!!!!

On to the morning bins:

following the patterns was super hard for them to accomplish!

I am still working on finding who made this-
this is my example and I have no idea where the original one is and
there is no name on it waaaaaaa :(
WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Grab yours HERE!!!!!!!!!!!

Target had a numbers one and an alphabet one...
but I need 3 for morning bins.
I put a container from Dollar Tree filled with different beads.

I used this puzzle from Dollar Tree.
I had to tape it down so it would stay put.

Here is our monthly scissor skills sheet.
They trace the line with the high lighter and then cut.
I sing, they sing, "Don't go cutting my heart"

I found these felt cupcakes at Dollar Tree.
They go perfectly with Pete the Cat.

We made concentric hearts.
I also taught them how to make hearts by making
two circles next to each other and adding a "V"

We read the rock book Love You When and then
we add these rocks to our centers.

Here was our sensory bin.
