Insects in Review at Kinderpond

I added the days of the week and numbers 21-30.

I used red mini clips and then plain old ones lol
I dyed the  craft sticks in food coloring and rubbing alcohol.
I only drew on the plain ones with Sharpie.

Bugs on a log.
or peanut butter and mini chips on a pretzel rod ;)

When playing Cootie, we sort out the pieces for easier play.
I grabbed the sorting tray at Dollar Tree.

We played with these Hexie Snaps.

We played bug dominoes.

We matched bugs to cards.

When setting up Ants in the Pants game...???
So elaborate!

Games are not made to be very durable, so we needed some tape!
Anyways, we put dishes next to the pants and assigned points to them.
The pants were 10 points.
The dishes were 5 points.

Guess who didn't have a manila folder?!?!?!
Yep, so I had manila paper.
I traced a plate.
Cut out the center.
I attached a plastic from those lacing sets from Target.

I drew dots on with a sharpie.
I colored the color words.

We made a dragonfly from paper.

Bug pick up using our fine motor skills and tongs.

Using hand power lol

Week in Review: Weather

Adding the trucks to his 14 days of Love envelope.

There is another row of green cards.
I was trying to fit it in my smaller
pocket chart lol

 How fabulous!!

Froglet got a Paw Patrol calendar for Christmas.
I wanted it to be something that was worthwhile and meaningful,
so I made small stickers for him to attach.

I used small mailing labels.
I got about 3 to each label.
I drew 4 things from the week.
I plan to grab my stamp sets and see what works.

Great process art- not very exciting ending lol
He had a blast "painting" so it was totally worth it!!

I am all for keeping it real.
Here was the weather page I added to his binder...
I guess he didn't like it too much! :)
It is still there.

Here was the groundhog cookie and Froglet was
coloring his for his cup.

Game seemed simple and I thought that it would take no time to win.
We played several times and none took less than 10 minutes.
Each player gets the 4 weather cards.
Spin and whatever spot you land on, you turn your card over.
I didn't realize that the gameboard was color coded until,
oh the 5th or so time we played lol

Froglet played this game many times over the course of the week and
each time he got it out, we played about three times in a row.

They do in fact still have rainbow airheads!

Learning Board

I picked up the calendar from Dollar Tree,
but I bought another one from Target's Dollar Spot because
it was Dr Seuss themed.

I grabbed the words:

*letters
*number
*color
*shape

I got the weather part HERE

I will add more for the weather later.
We use that blue Sticky-tac to attach the numbers and weather.

I started with only three
"How I feel today"
grab your set HERE
I will add others soon.
I did color the Vel-Cro dot
so it was easier to see.

I started using letter magnets and felt numbers
from Target's Dollar Spot.

I started this with the ice cream unit and I've already changed it lol

Here is what the side looks like today:

Here's where I store my pieces:

the envelope came from Dollar Tree

Here how I store the weather pieces.
I got the box at Dollar Tree.

I'm already planning on things to add on the side and then the back as well.
It might change to
"All About a Number"
changing the alphabet line to a number line

Not sure about the Upper/lower case one yet... ;)
The number before and after.
Is it even or odd.
Write number sentences for the "words that start with."
(user upload)

Other things to add:

*Seasons
*Today is, Yesterday was, Tomorrow will be
*Months
