Recycling Unit

We start off with this song, and it gets stuck in your head!

Recycle

Mini erasers with cards

Unifix cubes to measure

Light table

Glass beads and Earth

Books for the unit

We read this book and made the classbook too!

This was for journals.
We practice our names the "kindergarten way"

We brainstormed shapes of recyclables could be.

I added these things to our sensory bin-
things for compost and things to recycle.
I put real objects in the table too.
Small metal containers as well as some small plastic ones.
I need to add some paper, plastic, and metal items.
I was thinking of those mini brands things.

The filling is clean, new pet bedding.

During journals we made a paper collage.
I brought out a bunch of different kinds of paper.
The students cut or tore the paper.

We traced recycle in blue, green, and our favorite colors :)
Printable here
We also used the word cards from that unit as well.
That's coming in our morning bins post :)

We write our names the "kindergarten way"
The letter of the day was Dd (we write it 4 times because we're four)
We read Compost stew and brainstormed things that would go into our compost.

Spring Centers

Here is one of three book displays this year:

Sensory bin 1
Eggs, tongs, and large egg holders.

Sensory bin 2
Pom-poms
printables HERE

I drew a heart and a line at the bottom for their names.

Light table
mini polka dots cups
transparent eggs
and see-through shapes
all from the Dollar Tree
the cups and eggs are recent, the small shapes in the container are
ummmm let's go with over 20 years lol

Magnet sets from Target.

Egg-shaped chalk on black paper.
White-colored pencil to write our names.

Felt puppet theaters from Target's Bullseye's Playground.

Carrot, chick/duck? bunny fill
oh plus mini erasers and a number cube.
Roll the number cube and add that many mini erasers to the containers
.

Here are full-sized polka-dot cups.
Just like the small ones for the light table.
We are building with these in the blocks area.

Here are some hopping bunnies.
I put out brown paper.
The children hop the bunnies to the brown paper.

A wooden train set.
Looking carefully, you can see the top of the very narrow tree.
That lasted 2.2 seconds before someone broke it off.

These are silicone baking trays.
I used a number cube and mini erasers for a math game.

Wooden items for the blocks center.

Playdough center.
The cookie cutters were on clearance from last season lol
shop smart people!!!

Egg cups
Found at Target, but not in Bulleye's Playground.

We used these bunny tongs to put eggs in the above egg cups.
