Story: Calm Down Unit from Pocket of Preschool We're having some big emotions lately, so we need to figure out how to deal with our emotions correctly. I did share the free unit on my page, but in case you don't follow us on Facebook, here it is :)
Poem: Choices- I sorted the ones I wanted to use or had to pick from. I didn't choose ones I didn't have access to :)
Word Study: Say our words. Spell our words. Yep that's it!!
Theme words I add this to our learning board. Use the printing trick and print multiple pages on one page :)
This week is all about using things you already have. I don't want to be printing a zillion pages so this week I want you to just plug things in what you have :) . Monday-
Word Study: After introducing the theme words, use magnetic letters to spell. Idea from HERE
Fine Motor: Garbage Can Ice Cube Sort Some of these are from Dollar Tree and some are from WalMart. Give different "ice cubes" to sort into the trash cans.
Search your minds and homes/classrooms. Just draw & write on chart paper in 3 columns
Fine Motor: Truffula Trees . Hot glue pipe cleaners to bigger pom poms. Children will slide pony beads to the top
Science: Go out and pick up trash in your neighborhood or yard :) . Use a grabber or rubber gloves. They have grabbers at Dollar Tree, they aren't as cute as the Target ones, but they still work- it's for garbage :)
Math: Trash Pick up
Crunch up scrap/junk mail paper into small wads, use a grabber to pick up paper. See how many you can pick up in a certain amount of time :)
Art: Coffee Filter Draw on a coffee filter using washable blue and green markers. Spray with spray bottle with water
Fine Motor: Cut paper scraps- Grab your junk mail or any paper scraps and cut away :) Science: Build a recycling plant. Bring out your garbage trucks and Rocky from PawPatrol
