February Morning Bins

Craft Sticks

I went old school and just wrote on craft sticks

with Sharpie :)

I made a set from 1-20.

Then I split it between each of my morning bins.

Hash tag blocks

I have several sets of these, so I

drew lines of different colors

on the backs of the cards,

in case they get mixed up or fall

on the floor, so we can easily find it's home drawer :)

Heart ornaments for our tree

I added my bin of scrap paper, punches, and funky scissors.

Olympic theme words

Why do I call them "morning bins?"
Because they aren't bins and I don't like "Morning Drawers," I guess lol

I used to drink coffee, and the lids were gold.
When I taught first grade, they had words on them.

I used foam beads and pipe cleaners.

Shape of the Day Part 2

I have my students trace shapes on the easel,

right before we draw them on paper.

I tell them they need to color in the shape like they are

frosting/icing a cookie.

No one wants an unfrosted cookie!

They draw and color them in, then I display them on the board.

This year, I added the shapes behind their art,

but last year, I just drew the shapes on construction paper.

This was last year's:
