Letter Mosaics

We are making letter mosaics.
I literally grabbed some leftover paper from
another project and my muffin tin for any color
still needs to be added.

I drew a white letter for everyone.

Then, I wrote everyone's name in white.

The children will use glue sponges to make
these mosaic letters.
We did this as a part of small groups.

We get letters all of the time.
It's a skill needed. No one opens letters
anymore! This letter is for the lunar new year.
Each day we open a letter about
the holiday of the day.

I will get busy to get them up on TPT.
Read more about them HERE.

We will be celebrating Candy Cane Day!!!

We used 4 liquids and mini candy canes.
We talked about what they thought would happen.
I left the cups on my easel so they could easily watch what was happening.

Beginning... how it started

How it went.

In our journals, we made candy canes with patterns.
Bonus- we ate a candy cane during it too!

Every chart doesn't have to be huge.
This took a minute or so :)

Holidays Around the World and More!

We began our journey around the world right after Thanksgiving.  My Holidays Around the World didn't cover all the days we had, so I added a few days in of other celebrations.

Most of the centers came from this unit that I purchased from HERE.

I also bought the coloring pages from HERE.  My students really enjoy coloring this year, so I gave them a themed outlet! I am also trying to teach them to use both sides of the paper as well.

I gathered all of my letters and made sure that they were the coolest and had enough of each letter.

Roll and Fill the Santas' beard.
My cup of poms.

Dollar Tree bricks

Finish up the patterns.
I used pipe cleaners cut in thirds.

This also has gold glass beads to make the numbers below.

Put the dreidle on top,
write the letter, and
using gold beads to form the letter.

I bought THESE magnetic blocks.
I added green ones too!
They work perfectly on my easel.

Each day we get a letter that contains a letter about the day, a heading, and word cards. Then the word cards and headings along with word mats end up in our writing center.  I will try to snap a photo of our letters :)

I have a multi-step paper sorter to store these.
I put one set in per day.

Morning Bins: November and December

 Mini erasers and lines

It is a regular piece of copy paper.

I slid it into a sheet protector.

That's it! Plain and simple!!!

Mini erasers from Target over the years.

Ornament fill

Gather a bunch of pompoms
all sorts of sizes

It's really good work for them to get them out as well.

Roll the number cube.
Add that many poms to the ornament.
Use your fingers or the tongs

torn paper gingerbread

I tore some strips of paper and refilled as necessary during the week.

I hung mine up as an example.

I will get some pictures of their hard work!

When I get my class list I do a bunch of things.

2) Separate boys and girls

Directed Drawing:Turkeys Kinderpond Style

I did these directed drawings
within small groups.
I have two small groups.

I drew a circle/oval in the middle of the paper.

Then I went around the table and
had one child give me a color.

I drew the feathers that color.
Then around again for what kind of lines
we should use to decorate the feathers.

Then we added the eyes, beak, waddle, and legs.

This child's photo is there if
you look very closely.

Here was group two:
