October Morning Bins

Halloween Counting Mats

When I use these counting mats
(which come in a TON of themes!!)
I put dots by the numbers to help
 children who need help. :)

I used googly eyes from Dollar Tree

This one uses ghost table scatter.

We are loving the spiders!

It is still early in the year, so I put little dots so they

can count them to add that many spiders.

Eyeball jars the eyes are multi-colored.

We are going to work on our coloring skills.
Later we will cut them out along
with the brown stem and green leaf.
This is from the website From The Pond coloring club.

End of the month scissor skills. Found HERE.

Trouble areas

I am always seemingly changing my room- it works sometimes, then it doesn't lol

Here is my library shelves on my main floor:

We have a book bin for Pip the Pup and for classbooks.

The next day, the bins were moved lol

The kids nap in my room, so the boxes get in the way.

If they aren't stacked the "right" way, one of the labels pops off lol

I have another shelf and boxes in my loft too lol

Problems area #2!

First off, I have carpet on half my walls...

that's not really an issue. I mean, I just don't use it lol

My linear calendar takes up the whole wall-

but that's the point.

The blue chair is my teacher chair.
It is covering the outlet.

The white shelf holds our CD players.

Then my easel way over there lol
Thank goodness it is on wheels ;)

Maybe I move the white shelves to the center?
Move my chair towards the easel?

I'll be back later with an update lol

In other news, I got rid of these bucket shelves!!!!

Well I kept the buckets lol

Someone was giving away this Lakeshore unit and I scooped it up!

The sensory table moved down because it was spit between the carpet and flooring.

The table holds big books that need to find a home lol

or so I don't forget about them lol

I need more labels but I keep forgetting to take photos lol

Since writing this, I changed it more lol

so more updates to follow!

Science Center: Magnets

I  have so many of these Kindergarten Crate boxes,
so when I put together the units, more than just printing,
I pop all the extras in these boxes.

All the printables in the science area are from here.

There are a ton of cards- the smaller ones hanging,
have the same photo plus more words :)

Close up

Since I shared my science center,
I thought I'd share my math area too.

Here is my math area.
We are a Pip the Pup classroom.
I am trying to convince Tara West, to make some additional

I take these down each and every year.
When I introduce a shape,
then I hang up a shape card.

Classroom Tour: Math and morning bins

This is where my math manipulatives are stored. There is one sensory bin over here too.

The other one is on a different wall.

Most of the math manipulatives that I use for centers are in those 9 cube shelves.

The kids use them before class or in the afternoons or if we have indoor recess.

This is where I grab my morning bins for the first month.

Morning Bins read about those HERE.

At the beginning of the year, we start off super easy.

Check HERE for our first week morning bins.

I checked around my room- then go from there.

So my advice to you for starting morning bins is to see what you have on hand FIRST!!!

Puzzles

MagnaTiles

all those toys from Target that you buy for FOMO

or wait, is that only me???? ekkkk

I needed 5 different items.

*Color bears (I don't own these lol everyone has them, but me lol)

*chain links

*frogs lol (you have bears, I have frogs)

*pattern blocks

*Unifix cubes

Super simple and easy prep for you and perfect for the first week of school.

I love when I only have 4 rotations, then I can change them on Fridays.

I have prep on Fridays. So I like to be able to swap out then,

not rushing to do it after school or before school.

Then I wouldn't remember when I changed it.

Eventually, I put on a cute paper clip on one of the name cards,

so I knew which rotation I was on.

In week two I add cards to the drawers.

so the first week we just play, I mean explore.

Kids need to do this, it is very essential.

I got printables for each drawer.

So I just added some pattern block templates to each drawer.

I added link printables to the drawer.

I have logs and printables for my frogs

printables for teddy bears

printables for Unifx cubes.

This is what goes into our centers too. Especially when they don't get to explore in the mornings.

It depends on how long it takes them to gather their star and folder and check-in and then write their names to get to their morning bins.

They know the expectations already with those tools, so it's just extra practice.

Week in Review: Ocean

This is from Play to Learn Preschool

The fishing poles to this game are the worst!
We reach our hands in and take one out without looking.

Those Scentos came from Literacy and Lattes

This is how it was set up.
Yes there are wipes.
Normally, I only allow black ink.
My students color their stamp prints in.
I bought the ink pads at Target in the dollar section.

We set the stamps on the color we were going to use.

Then we rolled and stamped.
With older kids they could roll stamp and then add.
Circling two set of ocean animals for the problem.

This is how I store my inks.  Yes they are upside down.
This is so the ink stays near the top.
Old scrapbooking tip!
When we were done, out came the wipe and we cleaned them.

We played a fishing game.

This is that Dolphin Game. It's sort of like Hungry Hippos.
This is a bowl that tips lol
You pick the small balls up and drop them into your colored cup.

We did puzzles and play ocean dominoes.

Here are the octopus cheese for snack.
