Morning Work: Father's Day

Next up we have our monthly portrait and scissor skills.
They get a highlighter and a box of Color Me World crayons.
When they drew themselves and highlighted the lines,
they turned the drawing in and I gave them the scissors so there was
no chance that they would cut the self-portraits.

Labels
The ones I used are HERE.

Morning Work- May Ocean Edition

This week's morning bins:
I read Pip the Pup: Glue Stick

We are practicing our glue stick skills.
We usually use glue sponges.

I put letters 4 in a container.

What I really wanted was large coloring pieces
for our ocean mural. I copied this out of a
wait for it... a book!

In our journals:
We drew Z-words.
Zucchini, zig zag, zero
zebra, and zipper.

When we began our
ocean unit
I had them draw and write ocean words

These were the ocean magnets from Target.

I grabbed a pack of sandwich containers- I think
it was a 3 or 4-pack.
I used those Target alphabet clips.

I {think} the sheet came from here.

This is 3 big bags of sand. We found them for $1.25 each!

Fish ice cube trays from Dollar Tree.
Add dice and pom-poms or mini erasers.

Felt sets from Target.

Poppers from Dollar Tree
We are going to measure how far they travel.

Lacers- I think from Target.

Another felt set from Target.

Felt memory set from Target

Sea x-rays for the light table.

Items for the light table.
I think the jewels were from Big Lots.
Even if you don't have a light table, you can use them.
I didn't have a light table when I bought them ;)

Here are rubbing plates from Dollar Tree.

Felt play set.

Here is a whale puzzle from Target.

Ocean animals I think I will add this to the sensory bin with rice.
Same rice from dental health unit :)

Here is where and what I got for this unit over at

Kinderpond: where the teacher shops

Here are our calm down squishies

Hungry Dolphins-
the blue circle thing- is kind of like a wok, it doesn't sit flat.
The children grab the color balls and put in the colored cups on the side.

Here are some of my books:
