Alphabet Chant-

I will print two sets of frog letters so froglet can match his name. I will keep one set together and cut one set apart.

Color Song

Story~Jump Frog Jump

Finger play/ poem~ The Frog Lives in the Pond
(Farmer in the Dell)

Music-  Froggy foggy video

Math/Life Skills/Science

Feed the frog flies

I love some things about both of these things!  I have the frog (of course)
and then I like the logs of the other one.  Don't have chopsticks? Got mine at Dollar Spot, or just use tongs.

I couldn't find the post though.

Story- Lady Who Swallowed the Frog

Fingerplay- Frog and I

Frog and I
The frog and I, the frog and I can sing and hop (hop)
We both can dive, we both can swim (make swimming motion)
Although I can't compete with him (shrug)
We both have skin that's on to stay (pull up skin)
But mine is not green I'm glad to say

Music-5 Green Frogs
Gather some frogs. Place on a strip of paper, brown if you're fancy :)
Blue plate (either painted blue or a blue plate) or just a blue piece of paper

When singing the song and the frog hops into the pond, have your child toss a frog into the blue pond.

Math/Life Skills/Science- Rainbow Frogs on Logs

No need to buy this set like me because I'm all about the frogs! :)
Just use those hopping frogs to sort by colors and or size.
I plan to use my sorting tray.

Snack- Mint Ice Cream Frogs
Maybe I will use Junior Mints for the eyes. No hard candies for us.

Story- Icky Sticky Frog

Fingerplays- Uh-un Went the Little Green Frog

Un un went the little green frog one day
Un un went the little green frog
Un un went the little green frog one day
And his eyes went un un un!

{I searched everywhere for this song without luck :( }

Math/Life Skills/Science
Frog Grabber with Pompoms
Your child should pick up pom-poms and put them into a frog bin or dish.

Snack-Nutterbutter frogs

Story- Wide Mouth Frog

Fingerplays- F is for Frog

Art- Frog handprint (no link)

Math/Life Skills/Science  Jumping Frogs

Week in Review: LoraX

Pretty good tracing for his first time!

I don't color with froglet, so I thought I should tell him what to do
He started off impressed lol

We stopped to pop! lol
This is a travel sized board from Target.

Our Truffula Trees

Using non-plastic toys this week
need to come up with a name for them
My creation
Froglet's tower

My tower, I wanted him to see other things with them :)
Then we stopped to "Hulk" out

Here is a foam hopscotch mat.
I call out a number and he jumps on it.
He may or may be hopping off a table. lol

Hope to be back soon with Tot School,
although I am loving teaching at school.

Thoughts and Questions and some answers :)

Read what I'm doing with all of this at the end of the post :)

Here are some thoughts and questions- hopefully give some answers too!!

My thoughts on lesson planning- I pick and choose from tons of different sources.  I don't like having a set curriculum, not even when teaching full-time. ;)

I try to do a variety of different things and topics.

I have mapped out until June, I like having a plan.  Some people can just wing-it, I can't.  I forget about things I need and want to do.

2015-2016 Map

Will following along with Tot School cost me money?

Yes, but not as much as pre-school or daycare.  Most of the time I use easily accessible items.

Books can be checked out at the library.  I find books at Target, Wal~Mart and dollar stores.  I don't remember what themes I'm doing always, so I just buy random books.

Are somethings nice to have though?? Like a laminating machine. No you don't need one, but they aren't all that expensive though.  Most things can be used in a plastic sheet protector or plastic sleeve.
You can get both at Dollar Tree.

Do I print off my poems/songs/fingerplays?

Nope! I bring them up  usually on my phone or Froglet's iPad.  I resist turning on the computer in the mornings because I will get sucked in lol  But sometimes I do and I use it quickly and close it when we're done.

Do I do everything I plan for?

Nope lol  I plan painting but often skip it lol  I'm getting better.  :)

Do you have to do everything I planned?

What would you like to see more of or less of?

Please make sure you email me at
or message me on our Facebook page if you do have some kind of question.

All from the Dollar Tree:

Top left- see through plastic cups for the light table Green, blue, pink, and purple. Some *might* call them shot glasses, but I don't drink, so to the light table they go!

The numbers are for a calendar.

Note pad- pink butterfly, blue fish, green frog for name recognition.

Black Paw Patrol is a chalkboard- because what's old becomes new again lol

Barn- it's a farm scene

Red dish is Paw Patrol container.

Red and Blue horseshoes are magnets

We are huge Paw Patrol fans :)

No plans this week, I have to work, so stay tuned to the big kids blog for cool photos!
